Pardon my ignorance for asking these perhaps naive questions :
- Is this the way to install a “mattaadhipathi” of Sri Rangam Ranganatha Jeeyar Mattam?
- Is it just a job like any government post ?
- Was this how previous generations of Jeeyars were recognised as being fit to ascend to the “Peetam”?
- Does this method of anointing the 51st Jeeyar have the sanction of the members and laity of the Matham?
- Is this what the “Tenkalai” Sri Vaishnava sect of Tamil Nadu are readily and willingly accepting as the “new normal” for the process of selection of their spiritual head to lead a traditional institution such as the age-old Sri RangaNaaraayana Jeeyar Matham?
- Finally , if this process of “new normal” selection becomes a daringly different precedent set for this Tenkalai Sri Vaishnava sect , and becomes firmly institutionalised in good time as modern “best practice”, will it become the norm for all other Sri Vaishnava Mattams too in Tamil Nadu ? Such as Sri Ahobila Mattam, Sri Andavan Ashrams and others ?
