If you take a long serious and thoughtful look at this Infographic you must like me begin to wonder too about what is the nature of Man that he creates a virtual world for himself in the place of reality … and persuades himself into believing that God’s in His heaven— All’s right with the world!
The human population on Planet Earth as at October 2021 is reported to be 7.9 billion . … and the Chart tells me that about 9 billion users are out there hooked to Social Media virtual online platforms ! (One user using multiple platforms) .
If similar such statistics , hypothetically, were to be put out for, say, global numbers of Obesity, Coronavirus mortality, Drug and Substance Abuse or Female Foeticide…. I can imagine what dismay or consternation it might arouse in us! But then no ! Social Media is not an affliction … it is empowerment of the human condition …
Social Media Apps are purveyors of Informational Obesity as much as McDonalds Outlets are purveyors of physical Obesity .
