Mind read… be mindful .

What’s a secret skill or ability you have or wish you had?

I wish my skill at reading other peoples’ minds and thoughts became keener and more accurate than I know it is now.

Conventional wisdom tells us that the human ability to fathom other people’s mind is mostly judgmental. A person reveals his mind either through speech and / or behaviour observing both of which enables one to understand hidden motive, unstated thought and unexpressed emotion. It is only from years and years of experience of cultivating one’s faculties of such observation that one attains , if ever at all, at least a modicum of the ability to read minds i.e. to be able to correlate words and expressions that a person uses with the content or processes of his thoughts, to connect his behavioural responses and ticks with what exactly the person is emoting or imagining.

That’s not at all a skill easy to acquire … Mind reading is a very, very rare ability … Not even psychics or trained professional psycho-therapists succeed in mastering it. But then rare though such a skill might be it is not entirely unknown in history that there were a few mystics and saints in the world to have possessed the uncanny skill of seeing through other peoples’ mind with amazing, at times incredible clarity. They used their ability to help cure or heal or provide solace to people caught in all manner of distressful situations in life .

If mind reading were to became a skill that one could acquire and hone to perfection as easily as , say, a surgeon develops his skills and becomes adept in it, how much more would human empathy be fostered indeed amongst common humanity? How much more possible would it be indeed for men and women intuitively care for … and heal … and to forgive each other?

I am not a mystic at all but I do really wish I possessed that pure and mystic, unaided, “mindful” intuitive capacity to pierce the veil that shrouds the human heart and be able to easily fathom, in full measure, the mysteries of the great galaxy of thoughts and feelings that lies therein.
