Watching this video made me think :
I have a feeling all this public outcry is really not so much for Hamas or Palestine cause as it is a whole young American generation fed up with the broken American social contract that has left them hopeless and powerless —- their pent-up anger is against gross wealth-inequality, racism, rising crime, gun-violence, immigration, burgeoning Debt, the Wall Street Jewish establishment symbolising the worst forms and practices of capitalism, and totally dysfunctional political institutions etc.
It’s all of that rage and despair rolled into one upsurge of mindless street anger.
When you are angry you tend to lash out at anything and everything in the world that seems even remotely wrong to you … even if you know little about it.
The powerless in one part of the world can and will easily identify themselves with the powerless in the rest of the world .
The last time this happened was at the height of global Communism when the call of the Communist Manifesto was for the proletariat in the world to rise everywhere as one “Workers of the world, unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains!”
That motto today even in America as in any part of the world can be paraphrased to “O Ye Hopeless of the world, unite! You have nothing to lose but your chains!
