I watched the below video on X and that’s why I titled this blog of mine with the words , “O Ye Israel, find a Smarter Way to Deal with Terrorists”
Attacking innocent Jews on the street is “spread of poison” and bombing the life and daylights out of innocent Palestinians in Gaza city is somehow “self-defence”?
It is so sad to see a world where young people are getting so hatefully polarised into Anti-Israel or anti-Palestine camps …
It’s deeply disturbing to see how both camps keep up their hi-decibel, bitter and and almost manic commentaries on social media through broadcast of videos like the above.
Why we don’t see youth — university freshers or sophomores — instead screaming on the streets “Bring Peace Back without War”, is something that leaves all old men like me who once were “angry young men too” in the past, quite perplexed by the meaningless-ness of these kinds of protests.
I for one wish these angry young people rather switched to smarter slogans and social action . Their shouting rallies actually ought to be something along more intelligent themes and lines …. such as for example “Oh Ye Israel, Find a Smarter Way to Deal with Hamas’s of the world” .
All big powers of the world — USA, UK , France, Germany, China, Russia — are shameless hypocrites when it comes to fighting Terrorism . It is their own respective arms-industry and their vast network of international arms-dealers and mafia that constantly supplies weapons to various Terrorist groups like Hamas, Hizbollah or Boko Haram and Lashar-e-Toiba or the Taliban and so many others all across the world.
The root of the problem of Terrorism lies in the global arms industry. Defeating Hamas in Gaza will not be defeat of Terrorism in the world … contrary to what Netanyahu is going around saying while justification the bloody collective punishment Israel is inflicting on Palestinian Gaza. Defeating the global arms-industry will. It would do far more, in fact, than all-out war will to eliminate the scourge of Terrorism from the face of the whole world,
If the major world powers named above are truly sincere about eliminating the scourge of Terrorism then, the really smart thing the G7, G20 and the UNSC would do is the following:
— identify the names of all arms/manufacturing, arms-dealers and middlemen known to be supplying to terrorist groups – overtly or in the black/grey markets of the world — and put them all on a “Commonly Agreed Terrorist Watch List” right alongside the names of the main UN-Designated Terrorists Watch list.
— second identify and name all the international banks (mostly in offshore and under-regulated tax-havens) that are known to finance and structure arms-sale deals, huge and small, in the international market and also act as tax and funding advisers for the transacting parties . A lot of terrorist money is moved across the world today, in fact, through these banks in various surreptitious forms — narcotics, Crypto-currency , murky derivatives, metals and commodities exchange . These banks are really the most powerful purveyors of global terrorism but no one wants to recognise them, name them and shame them.
— thirdly, G7/G20 countries must impose, jointly and severally, steep production-cuts on all arms-manufacturers and suppliers on the entire industry — i.e. to downsize all production, distribution and financing of conventional, lethal weaponry. Just like the IAEC of the UN functions like a watchdog on nuclear proliferation in the world, there must be a world watchdog that monitors, regulates and certifies the end-use and publishes as well the sale-destinations of all weapons production in the world. This global watchdog may be called “G7+G20 Agency for Downsizing Global Arms Industry”. It’s acronym could be G7+20 ADGAI.
— fourthly , the G7 and G20 countries must sign and ratify an international treaty under the aegis of the UNSC under which each country will voluntarily renounce its sovereign right to export arms and ammunition without the unanimous consent of the ADGAI.
Will the world powers dare do such smart things ?
No, they won’t , of course! Why? Because it doesn’t serve their interests at all . Arms and defence manufacturing is one of the biggest contributors to any country’s GDP … It’s indeed the infamous “military-industrial complex” that keeps all the wheels of world-economy moving .
You just can’t go and kill the goose that lays the golden eggs, can you? Cutting off the nose to spite the face … So then, isn’t it much more profitable to simply let Hamas (and terrorists of the world) continue killing? And simply letting countries, like vengeful Israel today, continue killing too? For outfits like Hamas it helps them to preserve and perpetrate Terrorism as a “going concern”; and for Israel it helps to morally justify mass killing as a matter of “great national security”.
Why all the angry young people of the world out there protesting today on the streets, for either Palestine or Israel, are just totally blind to the heart of the matter mystifies me … Instead of outshooting or out-rallying each other on the streets , they should actually be closing ranks and start fighting shoulder-to-shoulder in their joint war against the real “Dogs of War” —- the merchant arms-dealers of the world.
