“The Hindu” today 21 Feb 2024 : DATA POINT

At least the Data analysis above — if not the noisy news and editorial commentaries in the media that have only confused and confounded me — confirms now my own suspicions voiced in my previous blogposts that I posted here over the last few days, ever since the Supreme Court pronounced its verdict striking down the Electoral Bond Scheme (EBS) as illegal and unconstitutional:
The EBS was most certainly conceived, designed and implemented by India’s political class to serve as cozy, self-serving social-contract with the Corporate world. It’s a clear moral hazard that works to the advantage of either party at the same time too.
While in strict terms of legality, no malafide could be imputed to Parliamentarian intentions when the MPs all assented to give the EBS statutory sanctity when first enacted, it’s clear as daylight now that all political parties that voted for it in the House were blatantly guilty of what in legal parlance is called “conflict of interest”.
