Currently, India’s own Covid vaccine COVAXIN after 3-stage trial is still awaiting approval/licensing by the WHO … it’s taken 110 weeks !
The same WHO approved Pfizer, Moderna and Sinovac vaccines in about 8 weeks !
The delay in WHO approving Covaxin seems to be deliberate attempt to malign Indian medical R&D … otherwise why would the WHO put out a press statement saying “… no corners will be cut” in the approval process!
The WHO applies obviously one standard for Covaxin and another standard for the likes of Pfizer , Sinovac etc … This is a new form of racism and vaccine-apartheid in the world today that the Western neo-imperialists have promulgated as new international order and as usual India is the prime victim of it.
I am proud to say that I as an Indian had no hesitation in taking only Covaxin , India’s own vaccine manufactured by Indian scientists and drug companies. But I see now that the world and WHO will not recognise me as a properly Covid -vaccinated individual since I decided I would not opt for the American Pfizer, the European Moderna or the Chinese Sinovac or the Russian Sputnik . I am a modern-day victim of age-old western-imposed apartheid.
It’s OK … I’m fine with Covaxin but I am of course very tempted to say “may the WHO be damned !”
