(DISCLAIMER : at the outset , let me say clearly that I am aware that the subject matter of this blog is presently “sub-judice” in the Madras High Court. It is not my intention at all to make any sort of comment whatsoever on what the Honourable Court is seized of . The focus of this blog is on an entirely different and wholly extraneous , even innocuous aspect of the matter. It is outside the scope, in fact, of the case presently being adjudicated in Court. Therefore, no part of this blogpost below can or must be misconstrued as being any kind of straying into matters sub-judice.)
************************************
If TM Krishna’s (TMK) plea in his counter-affidavit to the Court — please scroll down to the end of this blogpost to read a copy now freely doing the rounds on social media — is that the affidavit filed by the grandson of M S Subbulakshmi is defamatory, false and vituperative … then my question to him would be why is he seeking from the Court only mere dismissal of the specific averments in the suit made against him ?
Why is TMK not filing a suit for defamation against MSS’s grandson and seeking compensation to be awarded for the damage caused to his own vaulting reputation about which he has said so much in his submissions ?
And more importantly , here is another question TMK might want to answer for the sake of millions of his fans worldwide:
If all that he says in his counter-affidavit filed with the Court were to be true , then why isn’t he filing another defamation suit against Sri. S. Gurumurthy also who only very recently wrote this article below ⬇️ in the Indian Express ?
After all, more people in the country (according to Sri. Gurumurthy himself who said so in his recent speech at the RR Sabha, Mylapore, Chennai ) have read the Gurumurthy OpEd in the Indian Express than those who have read the MSS’s grandson’s affidavit … and far less people perhaps have in fact read all the chattering and fulminations — sound and fury — of netizens of the world in the last 6 months against TMK on social media .
The Gurumurthy piece and his great orations at RR Sabha obviously have inflicted enormous damage indeed on TMK’s image and honour, haven’t they?
So why isn’t he taking up cudgels against S. Gurumurthy as fiercely as he has now against Sri. Srinivasan, MS Subbulakshmi’s grandson, who by all accounts has landed himself now bang right in the middle of a cultural maelstrom in a teacup called the Madras Music Academy ?
If TMK did so, wouldn’t his defence in court then become even stronger and his image even more credible than it is now as reflected in his counter-affidavit ?
🤔🤔
