Below is a transcript of a WhatsApp conversation this morning that a very dear friend of mine and I had on the ongoing raging national debate on Hijab which has grabbed the headlines of every newspaper we read and every TV news channel we watch.
THE FRIEND: Good morning! Any views on the nonsensical but deliberate hijab controversy we see has been created by certain vested-interests in a community and the pushback by another equally vested interest in the other?
ANSWER: I think it’s pretty obvious it’s all about the “semi-final” Assembly elections … And it’s clear too that these protests are all orchestrated by the tukkde-tukkde networks —- viz. gangs in the left-liberal-secular-Muslim, Christian right-evangelical and Maoist-Urban-Naxalite–Kashmiri-Khalistani, language-fanatical separatist nexuses many of whom were all also involved in the recent past in the anti-CAA Shaheen Bagh rioting and the nefarious siege of Delhi by “Punjab Farmers” which resulted in the desecration of the Indian Flag on the Red Fort rampart on Republic Day in 2021.

FRIEND: How do you say that ?
ANSWER: Otherwise why would you see the SFI, PFI and CFI get involved in these Hijab protests ? (Student Federation of India, Popular Front of India and Campus Federation of India)
Modi’s India today has more enemies within the country than friends outside . It could well be his lasting political legacy in our country.
FRIEND: Yes you are right. I too am often stunned by the ecosystem that has sprouted all over the world in bringing down this government. It is in India you find the genesis and mostly from among the woke Hindus. Even our judiciary is a near-woke institution these days …. I wonder really why!
ANSWER: I wonder about it too … why does the Modi Government attract so much malice and vitriol within and outside the country like no other government before … not even Indira Gandhi’s … ever did?!
FRIEND: Do you have a reasonable theory to explain it?
ANSWER: I do have a personal view on the matter. It’s not scholastic … it’s instinctual and is mostly empirical observation only.
FRIEND: That’s OK… spell it out.
ANSWER: We know from our History that although India was not politically ever a single cohesive nation-state in the modern sense, it’s indisputable that it was however bound together by a very strong underlying common cultural tie …
That cultural bonding was steadily eroding in the last 60 years thanks to the social-socialistic-western-secularist political dispensations ushered in by Nehruvian and Post-Nehruvian successive Govts.
We all know that The Constitution of India itself is firmly founded substantively and materially only on that Nehruvian paradigm. Nehru paid politically prim and proper lip-service to “cultural unity of India” in his Discovery of India but in thought, word and deed and at heart he was nothing but a dyed-in-wool Fabian Socialist. And it is his Fabian Weltanschauung that has its imprint and spirit written all over the pages of the Indian Constitution. The other members of the Constituent Assembly most of whom were faithful Nehru-Bhakths — in that they could never challenge his leadership even though they liked to think of themselves as his doughty rivals —- like Patel, Ambedkar, Rajaji et al, distinguished themselves by further adding flavourings and garnishment to the fundamental Fabian-Socialist design and architecture of the Constitution by way of inserting their own pet themes and agendas such as Caste, Communal pluralism, linguistic identity, regional federalism etc . into the nation’s new holy Book. The architect however was Nehru and Nehru only … the rest were all only masons and artisans.
The Western world loved the Indian Constitution. It patronisingly lauded India for its great Constitutional values simply because it suited them geo-politically ….
They were happy that by Constitutional design India would culturally and politically remain colonised by them and be beholden to their core civilisational value-systems.
Thus, under such a Constitution indeed it was that tbe “HINDU rate of economic, growth” came to be in the last 50 years of Post-independence Indian history.
Thus it was too that the adoption of an unruly and wasteful Westminster-template of Democracy and governance in India came to ensure that India remained enslaved to the West in almost all modes of self-governance, jurisprudence, political and social discourse.
What you think is what you become. That maxim is true of an individual as it is true of a nation-state.
India in 60 years thus became what it persuaded itself to think Constitutionally:
Its thoughts were moulded by a Western post-colonial World Order. And decade after decade, elections after elections, constitutional amendment after amendment, we slowly lost anything called a clear, defining and abiding national cultural identity …
The narratives of all our history and heritage became a hodge-podge of Buddhism, Islamism, Minority-ism, blind Western Liberalism … and all under the banner of so-called secularism or virtuous pluralist-socialism.
Today the Modi Govt. is doing everything it can to reverse that cultural trajectory in the life of the nation. It is actually a counter cultural-revolution that is taking place everywhere right under our noses.
In this counter-revolution, India is threatening the Old Political Order and the Old Cultural Dispensation by efforts to reassert the homogeneity and cohesiveness of the ancient Cultural identity and bond that once united the subcontinent.
That’s why in the last 10 years we’ve seen the Modi governments at both the centre and in the states keep harping upon the theme of Unity…. Not Unity in the Nehruvian political diversity … but unity in cultural diversity …
And that indeed is the leitmotif underlying the resolution of Ayodhya temple that came about, the Kashi temple renovation achieved recently, the ongoing Mathura temple reclaiming, the promotion and revivalism of Sanskrit as pan-India language..
It is that very same theme of Unity in cultural Diversity which also is driving the BJP’s socio-political election agenda : Kashmir reintegration, One-nation-one-tax GST, One-nation-one-ration-card, national-higheay-grid, Aadhaar ID , one higher educational platform in NEET … and so on ….
The effort to rebuild the broken and sabotaged cultural homogeneity of India poses an existential threat to both the whole Judeo-Christian/Right-Evangelist and the Neo-Liberal-Leftist Western world because it loosens their age-old colonial grip on the political and economic ecosystem and discourse in a vast sub-continental marketplace of goods, services, ideas and ideologies in which 1.3 billion people can become authors of their own destiny if they can be led to do so by a strong and purposeful national leadership.
The West fears that an independent India with new found cultural homogeneity and a new pride in itself will become another formidable China which today follows its very own systems of governance and foreign policy and crooks an insolent nose at the world Order that the west wishes to impose upon it.
A culturally cohesive India can well turn out to be as much of a great political challenge to Western imperialistic ideology and institutions as China is today. And that potential geo-political challenge and threat the Western powers … especially the USA … cannot and will not concede without pushback, without a fight… tooth and nail, come hell or high water…
In the larger scheme of things thus should all we Indians understand that the Modi government is a threat rather than an accessory to the World Order being designed by the West today.
Hence the efforts to undermine India… by hook or crook… by its many enemies external who have even many more allies internally amongst us.
FRIEND: Very well expounded 👍🏼
ANSWER: 😆😁… OK, thanks, my dear friend! … Should I turn our conversation into a blogpost of mine for my own website today ?
FRIEND: Yes. I think you should. Your views are very balanced overall. 👍🏼
