How the USA bullies India with impunity

This is how the USA bullies India into accommodating American interest:

White House press secretary Jennifer Psaki said earlier this week that Indian purchases of Russian oil wouldn’t violate U.S. sanctions, but urged India to “think about where you want to stand when history books are written.”

If the USA imposes sanction on Russia, it expects India too to follow suit . Why? Because Uncle Sam says so ?!

INDIA is a country that imports 85% of its O&NG annual demand — 5.15 million barrels per day. In contrast, the US is a net exporter of O&NG and its share of energy import into the country is only around 26% of the primary energy use. So it’s very easy indeed for America — an energy self-sufficient nation — to deliver lessons in morality to India whose energy-security is precarious.

So, why shouldn’t India buy Oil from Russia given its energy security situation?

If AMERICA wants India to toe its line in foreign policy towards Russia today, then why doesn’t Joe Biden offer to export to INDIA Oil and Gas at 20% discounted global prices?

If America wants Indian support in its global conflict with Russia, then Uncle Sam, should please be willing to pay for it … Don’t expect us to be bullied into giving it to you.

In any case, America should also know that India buys less O&NG from Russia than it does from USA. Russia’s share is less than 1 per cent of our requirement, and that’s not even among top 10 sources, against America’s 9% share of our imports. So, why don’t you, Mr America, increase your own market-share here in India by offering prices to us competitive to what Russia is now offering to India on the market ?

India will certainly like to occupy a good place in history text books , Ms Jen Psaki … but that History must be our own , not American History written by Americans, for Americans and of the Americans.
