The UK Daily Mail
The UK Daily Mail is a tabloid that often peddles sensationalism as news … So, the above report must be taken with a bagful of salt.
However, if it’s true then either it means the beginning of the end of current war in Ukraine or the beginning of another fresh and more deadly phase that could grow into God forbid, a low-grade nuclear conflict even… That’s a frightening prospect indeed.
In either case , as a friend of mine described the scenario now “To be clear, both sides have made strategic blunders. No question. Zelensky has ended up destroying his own country and Putin has severely damaged Russia’s economy and its future. Both sides will struggle for a couple of decades to make good the damage. As you rightly observed, Russia will be reduced to a satellite of China given its total dependence going forward.”
I agree with the above observation.
Europe will not be the same after this war whichever way it goes from here and whichever way it ends …
While both Ukrainian and Russia will certainly have deep grievances against the West … for quite different reasons, of course … the fact is that a defeated or degraded Russia and a devastated Ukraine will not in any way affect the resurgence and rejuvenation of the economies of the Western world — the USA, UK and the EU.
Why do I say that ?
It’s because the outcome of this war is certain to boost the market-share of the US and its allies in two of the largest marketplaces in the world that contribute the most to the global GDP viz . Oil &Gas (OG) and Arms Exports (OE). Take a look at the Infograph below and see what the Russian market share was in these two global markets :

In the global O&G market- place , Russia had a 11% market share . It’s competitors were USA, Canada and Saudi Arabia which together commandeered 40% market share.
Russia will now lose its market share in the Global O&G market . And who will pick up the lost Russian share ? The US and Canada of course.
At today’s price of nearly $100/barrel that will translate into roughly $ 310 billion additional oil revenues per year for the Western economies!
Next take the global Arms Exports market. Who are the biggest Exporters ?

Russia had a market-share of 18.6% in this market while competing with the market-leader, the USA who along with its allies France, UK, Germany and Italy has a grip of a total of 59.8% of this global market that is valued approx. today at $550 billion.
Russia will be set to lose — sooner then later — at least half its market-share in this market which will translate into an additional revenue gain for the US and allies of approx. $.100 billion per annum. This additional revenue will certainly accrue to the western allies from all these countries below that were heavily importing arms and weapons from the USA and the West and will sooner than later be beginning to shift their sourcing:

Therefore, the long and short of the story is that with a potential future gain of revenues to their collective economies of $ 410 billion per year (O&G- $310bn+ OE- $100bn) to be realised from the Ukraine-Russia conflict, the USA has certainly won this War already without putting a single foot soldier of its own into it !
The other great beneficial outcome of this War to the USA and NATO is this : they have successfully created another “chronic hot spot” right in the middle of Eurasia that will now fester for at least a decade or more just like other chronic “hot spots” in the Middle East, Africa and the Far East — viz. Palestine, Syria, Libya, Iran, Yemen, Afghanistan, Taiwan, North Korea, Venezuela, Kashmir … and who knew maybe Tibet too in some point in future .. and most certainly now in Georgia and Armenia once again ?
The more the number of “hot spots” in the world the better for America and the West … it is very good for their economy and politics. The addition of Ukraine now as a “hot spot” in the world is going to fetch rich dividends to the West as we have seen explained above .
Now to maintain and sustain it’s enlarged market-share in the GDP-generating global industries, it will be in the interest of AMERICA to simply go on creating more and more “hot spots” in the world.
War has to be permanent . That is the fundamental credo of Imperialism. And that is the American credo is really no secret. Inside the Pentagon it is called the “Cebrowski Doctrine”.
The Cebrowski Doctrine is in short this:
“The world economy was becoming globalized. To remain the world’s leading power, the United States had to adapt to financial capitalism. The best way to do this was to ensure that developed countries could exploit the natural resources of poor countries without political obstacles. From this, it divided the world into two: on the one hand, the globalized economies (including Russia and China) destined to be stable markets and, on the other, all the others that were to be deprived of state structures and left to chaos so that transnationals could exploit their wealth without resistance. To achieve this, the non-globalized peoples were to be divided along ethnic lines and held ideologically.
“The first region to be affected was to be the Arab-Muslim area from Morocco to Pakistan, with the exception of Israel and two neighboring micro-states that were to prevent the fire from spreading, Jordan and Lebanon. This is what the State Department called the “broader Middle East. This area was not defined by oil reserves, but by elements of the common culture of its inhabitants.
“The war that Admiral Cebrowski imagined was to cover the entire region. It was not to take into account the divisions of the Cold War. The United States no longer had any friends or enemies there. The enemy was not defined by its ideology (the communists) or its religion (the “clash of civilizations”), but only by its non-integration into the globalized economy of financial capitalism. Nothing could protect those who had the misfortune not to be followers, to be independent.
“This war was not intended to allow the US alone to exploit natural resources, as previous wars had done, but for all globalized states to do so. Moreover, the United States was no longer really interested in capturing raw materials, but rather in dividing up work on a global scale and making others work for them.
“All this implied tactical changes in the way wars were waged, since it was no longer a question of obtaining victory, but of waging a “war without end”, as President George W. Bush put it. Indeed, all the wars started since 9/11 are still going on on five different fronts: Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, Yemen.
“It doesn’t matter if allied governments interpret these wars in accordance with the US communication: they are not civil wars, but stages of a plan preestablished by the Pentagon.”
