One of the important lessons in modern economics they never formally taught me when I was at university is that when faced with impending woe and imminent recession, the two most effective policy-measures a nation’s leaders will resort to while trying to dig themselves out of the hole they themselves in the first place dugContinue reading “Macroeconomics they never taught me at university : “The Zelensky Effect””

A rare piece of irreverent yet so refreshingly truthful journalism
The essay below is a rollicking, bawdy read. It’s full of bar-room profanity typically of the American kind. Such a profusion of choicest four-letter expletives in what purports to be a dubious Op-Ed piece made even me blush a little … and I’m no prude when it comes to occasionally using unparliamentary “pardon myContinue reading “A rare piece of irreverent yet so refreshingly truthful journalism”
A Theatre of the Absurd in the world of Western Diplomacy
Two years into the War that has set Ukraine aflame and is nearly destroying the country, America and the EU — so-called NATO allies — now seem to be dancing around each other in a macabre embrace of death. Last week President Macron embarrassed President Biden by dropping a diplomatic grenade at a EU summitContinue reading “A Theatre of the Absurd in the world of Western Diplomacy”
A symptom of America’s creeping crisis of confidence
This colour coded map of America above that appears in the latest UK Economist magazine is so intriguing. The trend of home-ownership Vs home renting it tracks is truly mind-boggling. Such a sea-change in the complexion of the housing-industry in America in a matter of just 3 short years ?!! What happened? What are theContinue reading “A symptom of America’s creeping crisis of confidence”
The looming propaganda offensive against Euro-Arab History
Watch this 5-minute video-clip below to get a quick summary of one version of the history of the Palestine-Israel conflict … post the horrific October 7, 2023 attack on Israel by Hamas in Palestine. It is the Israeli sanitised version. For someone who has no depth of knowledge of History, this video-clip truly serves itsContinue reading “The looming propaganda offensive against Euro-Arab History”
What has AMERICA really gained from, or hope to gain, from the Ukraine War ? Does anyone in the world really know ?
https://www.americanthinker.com/articles/2023/07/ukraine_an_expendable_country_may_soon_run_out_of_expendables.html Pretty grim and sad reading indeed is the above very well-informed analysis on the current status of the Ukraine war. If has been forwarded to me by very good friend and ex-colleague, Mr. Igor Afansiev, a Ukrainian national himself, who had been forced to leave last year his native city of Kiev, along withContinue reading “What has AMERICA really gained from, or hope to gain, from the Ukraine War ? “The Economist” (UK) on America’s new best friend, INDIA
Here’s my own take on this editorial published in the latest issue of of The Economist UK : (please scroll right down to read the reproduced piece) 1. The title should have been rephrased as “ America’s new best fair-weather friend”. 2. India is certainly more democratic and far less liberal than the West. Why?Continue reading ““The Economist” (UK) on America’s new best friend, INDIA”
My Sunday morning crystal-ball gazing into global geopolitics
Fareed Zakaria of CNN posed all the right questions to German Chancellor Schulz and got all the right sounding answers. But to me watching the video, the interview sounded pretty menacingly portentous for the future of the world in decades to come. On a quiet Sunday morning yesterday , I couldn’t thus help falling intoContinue reading “My Sunday morning crystal-ball gazing into global geopolitics”

Stay young and alive by writing …. says ancient Egyptian wisdom!
I am so glad a distant friend of mine emailed me this forwarded article ! It’s a fascinating piece coming out of ancient Egypt! It’s so full of profound and wise worldly observations all rolled subtly into it in subtle undertones … it says much about history, war, psycho-therapy, philosophy and , yes, sexual ethicsContinue reading “Stay young and alive by writing …. says ancient Egyptian wisdom!”
